Ok, so you are level 20 and currently your secondary profession is Ranger, and you also have a level 20 pet, then you decide to change to a different secondary profession. You play around with it and decide you liked having Ranger as your secondary more, so you change back...What happens to the pet? Does the original come back to your Ranger status and remain level 20? Or do you have to go charm another pet and level it back up to 20 again?

I???m thinking you???d lose the pet and have to go charm/level another, but has anyone ever done this and know for sure?

Very good question.

I've never done it before, but I imagine it works the same way as when you un-equip Charm Animal. You get your baby back until you take him to the trainer.

But you want the real answer, not a guess. Again, great question.

Wait.. you mean if I unequip my pet that when I re-equip him he wont be the same level anymore? Glad I found that out now instead of the hard way. I wouldnt have a been a happy ranger.

No, he'll be the same level. Even if you change class so you aren't a ranger, if you caome back to ranger and equip the skill you get your pet back, same level as he was.

Well, if it works anything like it doesn in Pre, you will get your orginal pet back safe and sound.
In Pre if you get a pet during the mission from Master Nente* but don't select Ranger as your second and then go change to the Necro skills for a bit then decide to return and become a commited ranger secondary - you get you original pet back.
- It would bite to have to relevel a pet - pun intended.
